Amanda Dunn believes financial planning should empower people, not overwhelm them. As a Financial Planner at Money Positive, she helps individuals, couples, caregivers, military and veteran families, and families navigating disability-related planning create financial strategies that align with their goals, values, and everyday lives.
Amanda has a passion for disability financial planning, including ABLE accounts, public benefits, and planning for families with disabilities. Whether she’s helping someone begin investing, build a budget, prepare for retirement, or better understand how different financial tools work together, her goal is always the same: to replace uncertainty with confidence.
Before joining Money Positive, Amanda worked as a business journalist writing for The Motley Fool and SmartCEO, where she developed a talent for translating complex financial concepts into practical guidance people can actually use. She holds an MBA, is a Series 65 Investment Adviser Representative, has completed CFP® coursework, and is currently pursuing the Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®) designation.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, practicing Pilates, and following the financial markets. She also volunteers with families using the Rapid Prompting Method (RPM) to support communication for nonspeaking and minimally speaking individuals and is passionate about expanding access to financial education within the disability community.
